Further Will Self thoughts...

1)Will turned up on his folding bike, he had difficulty leaving the building due to the amount of signings.

2)He has pledged to give up flying, previous to which he would walk to the airport, fly and then walk at the other end, he did this with Dubai and New York and encouraged people to try it as it gives you a sense of the 2 lands being connected.

3)We hope to work with Will again but this time in context of contributing to a book about the artist Ian Breakwell

Monday 26 April 2010

Will Self began his talk on Thursday by saying how happy he was to be in the most beautiful modernist building in the UK and then added - but you all know that! And beautiful it was - the sun was glinting on the sea and the building and people had gathered outside on the balcony to catch the last rays with a drink before going in to the auditorium. Will himself needed no introduction and launched straight into a riff about "phoney" his mobile phone to remind us all to turn our phones off. It was a great evening of dry wit and stories including readings from his book Psycho-geography. The audience loved it! More literary evenings like this to come...
